A- Farsi Classes

Teaching Farsi as a mother tongue language is performed for ages between 7- 20 at 5 different levels:

Farsi Level 1 (Beginners):

Level 1 consists of three terms. At this level students become familiar with the characters, alphabet and vocabulary. They will be able to recognise the sounds and syllabus. At the end of this level, students should be able to read and write. They also should be able to make simple sentences using different simple vocabulary.

Farsi Level 2:

At this level, students develop their vocabulary, and synonyms/antonyms and comprehension. At the end of this level, students should be able to read and write more fluently. They also should be able to write short texts and short stories. They start to read very simple poems.

Farsi Level 3:

At this level, the students’ reading and writing will be improved in more complex texts and they will study grammar, literature and learn more about the culture, history, geography of Iran and more poems. They will have more comprehension and composition. They will also develop their translation skills. At the end of this level, they should be able to translate Farsi poems in to very simple sentences. They can understand the meaning of the poems better at this level. They start to practice simple calligraphy. (Advanced hand writing)

Farsi Level 4:

At this level students study more grammar and literature. They will be able to recognise different part of a sentence. They learn about subject and object, noun, pronoun, verbs and their time. They learn more about the culture, history, geography of Iran. They will also develop their translation skills. At the end of this level, they should be able to translate more complicated poems to simple sentences both in written and oral forms and understand them easier. They can write short essay. They start to learn about proverbs and expressions and practice using them in their everyday life. They become more confident in their conversation skills.
Kindergarten

Farsi Level 5:

At this level students study grammar - more about adjectives, and learn more about the Past, Present and Future tense. They start to practice some of the GCSE exam papers. They learn to write more essays and use more complex vocabulary. They learn more poems, old prose and more proverbs and expressions. They should be able to understand the meaning and use them where needed.

Farsi Level 6 (GCSE Preparation):

At this stage students revise everything that they have learnt during the past few years and they will complete their knowledge. At the end of this year they should be able to speak fluently about themselves, family and friends their hobbies and interests, their school and their future. They should be able to understand more complex pieces of writing. Their comprehension will be more developed. Their writing skill should be the standard level for the GCSE exam. They should easily write letters, emails, short stories, articles and short and long essays. Their listening skills should also be of a standard level. At the end of this year they should be confident and ready to sit for GCSE exams. We are aiming to focus on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. This will also include grammar, comprehension, punctuation and spelling which will be taught step by step. In order to re-enforce these skills we will provide work sheets and books. Every lesson should include some revision.
